He has received an extensive number of awards, including a Gold Medal for his exhibition in "Lo Mejor de mi Tierra" (the best of my land) in 1969. Received an award in 1968 from "ANEA", (National Association of Writers and Artists).
He has been a recipient of prizes and honorific awards from newspapers, as well as from governmental and private institutions.
He founded with other renowned artists the non-profit academy "Amanecer" in 1947.
He had taught plastic arts for 35 years in several private and government institutions, including the Instituto Superior de Bellas Artes, "Carlos Baca Flor" in Arequipa.
His paintings are in galleries and in private collections around the world. The Peruvian government, in recognition of his art and his great contribution to the world of the Arts granted him the title of "Master of Arts in Plastic Arts" in 1989.
