The International Village Gallery presented "Views of My Country" at the San Francisco City Hall from July 9-August 11, 2002, with the sponsorship from the Peruvian Consulate in San Francisco, Sr. Raul Rivera Maravi, and the Deputy Consul Liliana Trelles Scott, on the occasion of celebrating the 181th anniversary of the Peruvian Independence.
The reception was very successful with the attendance of personalities from Consulates in San Francisco, and people representing local organizations. The appearance of the Mayor of San Francisco, Mr. Willie Brown Jr., and his speech recognizing the immense Latin American contributions to San Francisco added more charm to the audience that cheered and were very pleased to hear from him.
The following artists were represented: Hugo Bejar Navarro, Eva Bejar Navarro, Charlie Stierlen, Magno Angulo Loayza, Percy Herrera Arancibia, Guido Calcina, Edgardo Lopez, Juan Villanueva Barriga, Luis Arias Vera and Cecilia Revol.
