Each place has left a profound impression on my life, my outlook and my artistic taste.
My fascination with clay began in Peru at the studios of Felix Oliva and Carlos Bernasconi, two important Peruvian artists. They taught me the basics. It was there that I first began to sculpture in clay. The influence of pre-Columbian and indigenous art and the rich, modern culture permeate my work.
Some years ago I began working in bronze, stone and glass. These media present unique technical challenges and open a variety of possibilities in form and texture to express my imagination.
I believe my work is a social comment expressing my love of people by portraying their everyday life and dreams.
